Sean Schickedanz , General Partner, has made over two dozen early stage venture investments in the last 12 years, including OpenTable, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPEN), ACA Financial, ProClarity (acquired by MSFT), CallTower, USBX (acquired by Imperial Capital), SunLink and Marrone Bio Innovations. He has been a director of ten start-ups at various stages of development. Prior to co-founding Clean Pacific Ventures, he was Managing Partner at Sunflower Capital Partners, a generalist early stage venture fund. He was previously a Managing Director and group head within the consumer investment banking practice of Montgomery Securities. Sean received a BA in English from Brigham Young University, and a JD and an MBA from Duke University. Sean currently sits on the board of portfolio companies Carbonflow and Marrone Bio Innovations, as well as on the board of advisors for Bay Grove Capital.

Jeff Barnes, General Partner, has had three successful results with start-ups, providing a strong operational and strategic experience base for managing venture investments. Prior to co-founding Clean Pacific Ventures, Jeff spearheaded business development and marketing for Purfresh, a venture-backed clean technology water and food purification company with a long list of Fortune 500 customers. Jeff also was the first marketing and business development executive of two successful technology start-ups, VocalPoint (acquired by Telecom Italia) and Acendi. Previously, Jeff spent 5 years at Bain & Company in the Private Equity and Technology practices consulting to private equity funds and to major technology companies. Jeff has invested in Blingo (acquired by Publishers Clearing House), VocalPoint (acquired), Advanced Educational Corporation (acquired) and Purfresh. Jeff holds a BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University and a MS in Management from the London School of Economics. Jeff is CEO and Chairman of AquaGenesis Technologies and is a Board Director of Clean Power Finance.

Dave Herron, Principal, was a Vice President and group manager for Robertson Stephens’ Energy Technology investment banking practice, which focused on companies involved in distributed generation, power quality and reliability, and advanced materials. Prior to that, he was a Senior Vice President at Van Kasper & Co. (now Wells Fargo Securities), where he worked on numerous transactions for environmental services and technology companies serving the solid, liquid, hazardous and radioactive waste markets. Dave received a BA in English from U.C. Berkeley and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Dave currently sits on the board of portfolio company SunLink.

John Gearen, Associate, most recently, launched and led the Cleantech team of the Wolverine Venture Fund, an early-stage technology and healthcare fund. John has also worked with the Acumen Fund in Hyderabad, India, focusing on energy dealflow, and worked in new business development for Energy Conversion Devices (ENER). Prior to these, John worked at three startups in software and renewables; of these, PostX was acquired by Cisco via Ironport. John received an ScB in Electrical Engineering from Brown University focusing on the hardware / software interface, and an MBA and MS in Environmental Science from the University of Michigan

Jay Thomson, Venture Partner, is the founder and managing partner of Brazos Pacific Partners, a private investment firm that invests in multiple asset classes, including oil & gas, timber, real estate, and private equity. Prior to that, he was a Partner at the law firm of Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco, California, where he practiced in the areas of financial services, securities, and merger & acquisition litigation. Jay received a BA in English from Trinity University, and a J.D. from the University of Chicago.

Dr. Robert Larson, Advisory Committee Member, is Co-Founder and Managing Director of the Woodside Fund

Denise Davis, CPA, serves as Clean Pacific Ventures Chief Financial Officer.
